Rabbi Boaz Marmon
Rabbi Boaz Marmon is the son of Rabbi Elliott
Marmon, his predecessor at Congregation Shaaray Tefila. In earlier life, Rabbi
Marmon (Junior) has been a Signals Intelligence analyst and Iraqi Arabic
linguist in the United States Army and earned a degree in Computer Engineering
at Old Dominion University. Rabbi Marmon has been active as a Jewish educator
and leader in various settings and roles since 1991. In recent years, he has
been Director of the Temple-Synagogue Religious School (the interdenominational
religious school of the Glens Falls Jewish Community) and served as a High Holy
Day cantor at historic Anshei Gerim Synagogue in Burlington, Vermont. Rabbi
Marmon is a seminarian at the Academy for Jewish Religion in Riverdale, New
York.
Rabbi Marmon strives to maintain a welcoming
atmosphere and traditional ambiance at Congregation Shaaray Tefila. He believes
a synagogue should be a house of prayer, learning, community, and fun. We are
bound together by Torah, mitzvot, Israel, history, heritage, and all too often
by others’ prejudices. We are, as Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan wrote, a civilization.
But more fundamentally we are a family. As our sages teach, “All Israel are
responsible for one-another.” At Congregation Shaaray Tefila, our goal is for
all our members, friends, and guests to feel part of the family.
